Holiday planning

Yauuu! It's almost holiday! We are having a two weeks Easter holiday here starting from next weeks Monday:) Compared to the two days what we used to have in Finland this is awesome. Everybody are packing their stuff to either go home for two weeks or to travel around, since we are in the perfect location to travel rather cheap.

I decided not to go back to Finland since the flights are expensive and I don't really feel home sick yet:) Of course most of "my people", as in family and friends are visiting me here while my Erasmus so I will have the opportunity to see everybody:) Only my dog I'm not able to see and that brakes my heart <3 So everybody at home: "Give Mr. Boogie a big hug from me:)"

So my plan for the holiday is to see my family in the weekend and on the same time enjoy the Belgian coast. It has been a long long time since I've been to the coast. When I was young we used to rent a house in the coast of Belgium every summer and spend the holiday there...oouuh..I was so young. So perhaps it will be like déja vu again?:D
After this I return to Zwijnaarde, Gent and spent one weekend here with all the people that are left in Vesalius:) Not too many I think, put fun is always guaranteed;) However it's not just fun holiday time for me since I have my final Dutch test first Monday after Easter holiday...so there will be also studying as well as intensive searching for a job:/ Piece by piece I need to start to apply for an internship here in Belgium or somewhere in the world, so that minimizes my holiday...

But I see light in the end of the corridor, since the final week of Easter holiday I will spent in BERLIN with my girls from Finland <3 They are also in Erasmus at the moment and we will meet each others in Berlin for few days. So looking forward to this!

Also other friends from Finland are coming in May so a lot of planning is being done and the ultimate best thing will be NEXT SUMMER interrailing with my best friend in the south of Europe! Spain, Italy and France here we come!

Today I didn't have school so I spent the day cleaning my room and chilling. And yes finally I have some pictures for you from my home<3 Welcome:

Mi casa<3 and memory from soulmate party, since I didn't find my soulmate

"green jungle" as the people here call it...I just like green:P

my collection of favorites is getting bigger:)

Welcome to the middle corridor

Kitchen!

And the very clean living room after the cleaner:)

So now you know how I live and the lucky ones who are visiting me are privileged to see this in reality;) And for those of you who miss me enormously: "Like always I'm enjoying my life and very happy so don't worry about me!" And yes mom, I still coming home some day ;P
Just remember my approach of life and you will do great!

Long Time No See!

I knew this regular writing would be hard for me but hey here I am again. Many things to tell but to cut the story short I have done A LOT in the last weeks, busy as always, and here is the proof:

Carnival in Aalst, a city near Ghent. In Finland you can find nothing similar to the carnivals in here. What an experience! Good company, many thing to see, music, beer, and fritjes of course<3

Visiting Antwerp for sightseeing and shopping. Famous shopping street, cathedral, good company(as always:DD) and the sun<3 What more could a girl hope for!

Visiting the amusement park which was here for two weeks. Mmmm... I don't even remember when I have been in attractions the last time. Crashing cars, absolute favorite since forever, scary house and of course the crazy catapult! Adventure; as I like it! Like my life is not adventurous enough without these things:P Also experienced the Belgian waffles with cream and fruits!

Ice skating with the people from our student home. Why? Because it was active Sunday. Really makes you feel like at home and believe me the; the Finnish people were popular on the ice ;D People ask you how long you have been ice skating and you start to think; and realize that you have no idea: So the answer is: " As long as I can remember :P" Thanks mom and dad<3

Jazz session in one of our favorite bars! Something that you just love about Belgium is the fact that there are free concerts everyday and EVERYWHERE; if you just know where to look :D Nice Sunday evening spend with a good beer and relaxing live music<3

You know this feeling when you just want your life to be easier? Belgium has a few solutions to this never-ending battle between you and the world;) Feel free to be jealous:

1. Imagine that your shopping takes only the amount of minutes you want to spend in the shop. Yes, no queues, no traffic and no angry cashier ladies:P Here it comes: my savior in everyday life: Electronic cashiers! You just walk straight to the machine, scan the items, pay and GO. Shopping takes literally 5 minutes if you just know where to find everything:)

2. Second thing that makes my life a lot easier is the fact that you can get everywhere by bike in 15 minutes. How cool is that! No timetables, traffics or crying children and their frustrated parents...just fresh air and easy travel. Especially for a person who tends to be late or "last minute", this really makes a difference;D Talking with experience here as you all know;) Plus: The feeling of being active comes as an additional benefit! Yes, I know that sometimes it rains like hell, but we Finnish people are not from sugar!!

3. And the third enlightenment I have had: As I tend to tell my friends here: "Everything is discussable here in Belgium!" In Finland I'm used to strict rules and patterns, but here it seems to be a common fact that there is always a way to make problems disappear just by having a reasonable conversation between the two sides. Perhaps the borders are more bendable? But I like it! There is no big fuss about anything and believe me your life is much easier when it comes to mandatory duties:)

That's all for today. Tot ziens!
