Week no. 3

It's Monday! Weeks start to go by so fast that I don't even notice that I've been here already three weeks. Where does the time go? I guess when you have a lot of new things and amazing adventures time just flies!

Last week's highlights:

Wednesday we went Bowling! Super fun with best company ever;) This place was fantastic! Bowling with neonlights, pool tables upstairs, bar, cheap beer and the best thing so far: tablesoccer! Nothing is more intense than a tablesoccer game between a Finnish team and a Latino team! Now that's what I call A MATCH!

I went shopping for new shoes because I left my winter shoes home; thinking that it's crazy to carry those here:S Seems to be; that in Belgiun you also need winter shoes. So now I have two and I LOVE them both<3 Leather shoes & big sales: A dream come true!

Friday we bought fries and those were amazing! Frietjes met mayonaise!Heel lekker<3 I've eaten fries here already before but these were just something magical! It's just probably the something, that these small outdoor kiosks have. Now I truly understand the meaning of "The famous Belgian fries"<3

And the other thing I just can't get over or under is Martino! Thanks to my family; I was raised to love Martino! I know raw meat sounds terrible, but if you have not tasted this you are not allowed to judge! Read more about it in here: http://www.thedutchtable.com/2011/04/filet-americain.html

This morning I woke up and it was sunny without snow! I'm used to get this spring happiness in late April/ early May so you can imagine how I'm in love with Belgium at the moment<3 In the afternoon I took a walk in the Zwijnaarde neighbourhood:

This football field on our backyard is waiting us! I promise; we will meet:D

Somehow I seem to be loving everything here. I think it comes from the exciting factor of new experiences! Life could not be better cause I'm enjoying it deeply;D

Artistic weekend

Weeks roll faster and faster! Can't really believe this weekend went by so soon, but at least the memories stay forever<3

Saturday we explored the beautiful city of Lille<3 French athmosphere, old buildings, historical churches, croissants, shopping, handsome boys, cheap wine and AWESOME company. My stomach is still painfull from 10 hours of laughing:P Magnifique, as they tend to say in France!

This weekend's integrative factor was ART<3 In Lille we visited "Le Palais des Beaux Arts de Lille" and had a free visioguide tour around the paintings of different eras. Because a picture tells much more than the facts what  I learned, please enjoy:

After this trip I was filled with information and knowledge of art, but only one painting, among thousands, really caught my eye. Even I don't exactly understand it, I somehow feel the "artistic bond" between us. You know the one when people go crazy about a painting and they just have to buy it. This was the only painting what I would have bought. Not really a history-person...ha?

Sunday I was recovering from the Lille trip and spent the day watching movies, running and eating good food.<3 Somehow still feeling artistic, because I experienced the finest art I've seen so far in my hole life: Step Up Revolution, Art Gallery Scene! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ummScwWcroI
That's my kind of art<3Made me speechless!

Absolutely weekend well spent!<3

R.I.P. HP Mini ;(

So it seems to be that U learn about your life back home everyday when you are abroad!
This weeks saldo on self-evident things back home:

1. You can't survive student life without a tin opener! That's just a raw fack of life.
Yes, I know you are thinking:"just buy one of these tins which U can open without it!", but it's not as easy as it sounds + it's more expensive! So after my calculations:It's better to invest in a tin opener!Lesson learned;)

2. A man in the house who will straight away solv all your technological problems!
Not trying to be a maskulist here so of course it can also be a she, but unfortunately not in my family;)Just joking mom!Not really...XD
Yes, so back to the point! My wonderful little HP Mini got some water to its keyboard yesterday from stupid IKEA glass and therefore it doesn't want to work anymore;(With the help from IT-experts I tried to dry it has hard as I could, but it's dead. R.I.P. HP Mini<3
Thanks to the guy who invented On-Screen Keyboard I'm still able to use my computer, but I can tell uou: You don't want to be in my shoes!Clicking every letter of this post with my mouse....yeah.

But got to stay positive right?! Because I'm living in this believe that everything happens for a reason, I can only hope that when enterring the store to buy a replacement for my mini, I will bump into my future husband;DD

For the rest nothing special. Studying, cooking, hanging with friends, reading, exercising etc.
Life becomes normal!

And as you can see, my bookmark always reminds me of home<3

Here I am!

So this is it now! I can't believe I'm living my dream. Living abroad sounds so absurd to my ears but here I am!

I'm really here and it has been  a week since I arrived to the wonderful city of Ghent. Piece by piece I'm getting the hang of everything. It's funny how the normal things at home, like internet and a good pillow can make you so happy here<3 It still feels more like travelling, not really home. But everyday I wake up and I look around my temporary room, for three weeks still, and everyday it seems more like my own<3 Also the love for Belgian culture and all the great people, I have already met, makes life so much easier in here.

I live in the Student Home Vesalius, in Zwijnaarde, Gent. In other words...middle of knowhere!:)Just joking! It's 20 minutes to the centrum by bus, so as my friends in Finland know, it's like going from Espoo to Helsinki:/ But the good news is that I will get a bike, soon I hope, and then it will all be easier:) However I'm not the only one living here, so I always have company to share the awesome bus rides.

I started the Dutch course last Wednesday and got the hang of it rather quickly! January it's all about Dutch and February I start my school for real;) We have a great Dutch class, teacher is great and the atmosphere is international. People with different nationalities and different stories. Not that I don't like the stories home;D, but it's just, let's say: refreshing! We spend a lot of time together also outside the class, sightseeing, shopping, tasting beers and eating fries, of course:)that's what you do here in Belgium right?:)

We also teach each other about our own countries; so last week we had an awesome Polish vodka party! Na zdrowie!:D So all in all I have been quite busy here:)
